Local Copyright Law

Contrary to the assumptions of some, the rights of music creators are protected under regional copyright laws.

In the UAE, Federal Law No.7 of the year 2002 Concerning Copyrights & Neighbouring Rights lays out the ground rules as it pertains to using music in any form.  In it, the rights of producers (labels) and composers & authors (or their representative music publishers) are protected, without the need for any new laws to be passed.
